Character UV Map Final


This is my new UV Map. I have now been able to unfold various parts much better and move bits around so there is less empty space between the maps.

This is the new colour map for my UV map.

Character Model UV Map 2 - Version 2

This is an alternative UV map where I was able to move the UV's around to get rid of some of the free space, but this UV map has the same problem as my other one and I cannot select the UV points in the UV Texture Editor to unwrap or resize the maps more.

Here is my upgraded UV map, I have been able to unwrap parts of the UV map, but the feet and hands still will not unwrap at all and now their UV's won't be selected in the UV Texture Editor so I cannot edit them further.

Character Model UV Map Colour

Despite the problems will unfolding various parts of the UV Map, I have created a simple UV texture for my model. Since I am using simple block colours the bad UV maps do not matter too much.

Here is my Wizards UV map. Obvious problems are hands (Top Left) which do not seem to unfold correctly. As well as the feet (Middle Left) which also to not seem to unfold properly and have 6 points of each have combined into a single UV point. This prevents the feet from unfolding properly.

Wizard Model Attempt2




My second attempt at modeling my Wizard. It went much better than my fitst attempt and I have been able to almost complete it. Because I started with a cube for the body, extruding and moving the polygons has been alot easier.

My first attempt at modeling my character. For a first attempt it isn't too bad, but because I started with the head, which is an edited sphere, and extruded from there I have been having problems with the body shape.

Wizard Character Animation Storyboard2

An improved storyboard for my wizards animation based on feeback from my classmates and tutor. My wizard now has interaction with his hat, multiple movements of walking, spell casting, and running, also special effects will be added to the final render for the magic and smoke.

Geometry Practice

My attempt to create a human over the summer is a good example of bad geometry. He may look ok as he is, but if he was rigged he would be very difficult to pose or animate due to the lack of edge-loops which allow models to deform smoothly.

Geometry Examples

Examples of Geometry to guide my character model.
Good geometry requires a good number of polygons to make the model smooth, but not so many that rendering takes longer than necissary. Also extra polygons are required on the front/outside of joints so it can bend properly.
